Budget and ROI — How to Calculate When a Campaign Turns “Green”?

I’ve been struggling a bit with knowing when to call a campaign profitable. Sometimes I see a few conversions and get excited, but after factoring in ad spend, it’s barely breaking even. Then I scale too early and lose everything I earned. I know some affiliates talk about campaigns turning “green,” but what’s the real threshold? Do you go by ROI percentage, daily trend, or some kind of average?

For me, a campaign goes “green” only after it’s stable for at least 3–5 days with consistent ROI above 30%. Early spikes can be misleading — sometimes it’s just lucky conversions. I use tracking tools and compare EPCs with network stats on the Best Affiliate Network. That way, I know if my results are actually sustainable or just short-term noise. Once numbers hold steady, that’s when I start scaling carefully.
